Loans Surrey residents apply for online are funded under the same BC licence as a Vancouver loan, from a City Centre tower or a family home with a basement suite. This page covers the Expo Line stations, the Pattullo and Port Mann bridges, hospital, campus and trucking pay, and the $14 per $100 cap on a payday loan.
Four Expo Line stations, two bridges and a lot of road
Surrey is large enough that most trips happen by car, which is why applying online from wherever you are suits the city better than any trip would. The Expo Line reaches Scott Road, Gateway, Surrey Central and King George, and everything else moves across the Pattullo and Port Mann bridges, along Highway 1, King George Boulevard and Fraser Highway.
The application runs on a phone in a few minutes. The lender reads recent deposits through a read-only bank connection, shows the fee, the total and the due date in dollars, and sends the money by Interac e-transfer to the chequing account your pay goes into. Someone stuck in bridge traffic at 6 p.m. can finish it once they are parked, and an evening or weekend request waits for the lender's next funding window, as the e-transfer loans Vancouver page explains.
Surrey Memorial, the campuses, City Centre offices and the truck yards
Surrey paycheques come from a mix of large institutions and yards: Surrey Memorial Hospital, SFU Surrey and Kwantlen, the City Centre offices, the trucking and logistics yards, and the construction trades working on towers and subdivisions across the city. Each runs its own calendar, and the due date on a short loan should follow whichever one pays you.
| Where the pay comes from | How it usually lands | Setting the due date |
|---|---|---|
| Surrey Memorial Hospital | Biweekly, with shift premiums | Borrow against the base cheque |
| SFU Surrey and Kwantlen staff | Regular payroll on a fixed schedule | Due on the next scheduled pay date |
| City Centre offices | Often semi monthly | Borrow just after a pay date, repay on the next |
| Trucking and logistics yards | Weekly or biweekly, with hours that change | The shortest term that reaches a sure deposit |
| Construction trades | Weekly or biweekly, slower in the wet months | Size it to a rainy week, not a dry one |

Basement suites and multigenerational homes: whose name goes on the loan
A payday loan in Surrey is always in one person's name and based on that person's own job deposits, even in a house where several generations and several earners share the bills. Many Surrey family homes have a basement suite rented out, or two or three households under one roof, and the combined income of the house does not count toward one applicant's loan.
That matters for sizing. If you cover a share of the mortgage or the hydro in a shared house, the loan should fit your own cheque after your share is paid, not the household's total. A tenant in a basement suite applies the same way, using the suite address as it appears on their ID and bank statement.
City Centre towers work differently. The bill there is rent on the first, and the gap is usually a matter of days between the first and a biweekly deposit.
A truck repair or a new suite: which loans Surrey borrowers should pick
The loans Surrey borrowers should pick depend on the bill: a payday loan for a truck or car repair under $1500 with a deposit a week or two away, an installment loan for a move into a new suite or anything larger. At the legal maximum of $14 per $100, a $600 repair loan costs $84, and $684 comes out in one debit on your next pay date.
Moving into a suite means first month's rent and a damage deposit of up to half a month's rent at once, and with a truck to rent that often passes the payday range. The installment loans Vancouver page covers $500 to $10000 over 3 to 60 months at 18% to 35% APR, and the payday loans Vancouver page covers the short product. A shortfall that repeats is a budget question, answered on the Vancouver loan FAQ.

BC rules across Surrey, and the town centres with their own pages
A lender funding any Surrey address must be licensed by Consumer Protection BC under Part 6.1 of the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act and the Payday Loans Regulation, and the lender sets and discloses the fee, the total and the due date before you sign.
You can cancel at no cost up to the end of the second day the lender is open for business after the first advance. Rollovers are banned, and a third loan within 62 days triggers an instalment plan over at least 3 pay periods. Complaints go to Consumer Protection BC, and the how it works page explains each step.
Loans Vancouver is a free loan connection service, not a lender. The Loans Vancouver homepage compares the two products, and the areas we serve hub lists every place the site covers. Surrey's town centres each have a page of their own: Newton on King George Boulevard with its trucking corridors, Guildford by the Port Mann, Fleetwood on Fraser Highway and Cloverdale in the south east.

Surrey is not Vancouver. Is my address still covered?
Yes. Lenders are licensed for British Columbia as a whole, so a Surrey postal code gets the same fee cap, the same cancellation right and the same rollover ban as a Vancouver one.
Several people in our house work. Can we combine incomes on one application?
No. A payday loan is made to one person on that person's own deposits. Each earner in the house would apply separately, and it is usually wiser for only the person whose cheque clearly covers the debit to borrow.
I drive for a yard and my hours change week to week. How long should the loan run?
Set it to the first deposit you are sure of, even if that means a smaller amount. A loan due on a week that may come in light is how a short gap turns into a second loan.
The loan is for a truck repair. Should I apply before or after the quote?
After. Get the written quote from the shop first and borrow that amount, not a round number above it. If the quote passes $1500 or the truck will be off the road past your next cheque, look at an installment loan instead.
